LOCAL AUTHOR CHRIS PECHACEK TO SPEAK AT HARRISON DISTRICT LIBRARY
Mark your calendar! On Thursday, June 26, Harrison’s own Chris Pechacek will be speaking at Harrison District Library at 1:00 PM. Come at 12:30 and enjoy a light luncheon first.
Christine Wener Pechacek grew up in Warren, a then rural area, one of four children born to Joseph and Shirley Wener. She began writing early in personal journals as a way to simply express emotions, thoughts and ideas. The impetus for her first book, If I Had Wanted a Trip Through Hell, I would Have Bought My Own Ticket, grew out of a desire to leave her children and grandchildren a legacy of who she was and why. Christine’s writing is personal and, at times, intimate, opening up for the reader a window into a childhood that was both tragic and funny. Her second book, Is It Too Late To Get My Money Back? came out in February, 2014, and is a remarkable memoir of personal strength, redemption, and forgiveness.
