SILENT AUCTION AND PANCAKE SUPPER

Saturday April 1, The Clare County Senior an Community Center will be holding a silent auction and Pancake Supper at the Center in Farwell. Auction starting at 3 pm, Supper at 4 pm. The “Red Hat Strutters” will be performing through out the day.

All You Care To Eat Breakfast Buffet

The Lake George Boosters Club invites everyone to their monthly Breakfast Buffet. We are located at 89 S. Bringold, north of Lake George. We serve from 8am to 11am on Saturday, April 1. The proceeds go to our College Scholarships.

6th Annual Freedom 5K Run/Walk

Registration is now open for the 6th Annual Freedom 5K Run/Walk that will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10:00am at the Veterans Freedom Park in Harrison Michigan.
The Walk/Run is in memory of Robert Friese, former resident of Harrison, who made the ultimate sacrifice for this great nation in April 2011.
Proceeds from the Run/Walk will go towards the completion of Veterans Freedom Park.
The cost for EARLY registration is $25.00. This is a timed race and is endorsed by the Pure Michigan FITness Series.

Clare County Habitat for Humanity Housing Selection

Clare County Habitat for Humanity is gearing up to find a new family to help make their dream come true of owning a home in Clare County, Michigan. If you would like to own a home in Clare County or know of someone interested or in need of affordable decent housing and would like to become our newest family now is the time.
The Clare County Habitat for Humanity Family Selection Committee will be having an open event on Tuesday April 4. 2017, from 6:00-8:00 pm. In the conference room A in the basement of the Clare County Court house located at 225 W. Main St., Harrison, MI 48625. A qualifying family will need to have a gross (before taxes are taken out) income of at least $1,200.00 per month, a need for a home, must be willing to become a partner family with us.
The family is required to perform sweat equity hours on the home or at other events we are holding throughout the county, attend classes for budgeting and home maintenance must be attend while you save a $1,000.00 down payment. Clare Congressional Rummage Sale

The Clare Congregational United Church of Christ is hosting a rummage sale at 110 W. 5th St.(across from Post Office) on Thursday, April 6th, from 6pm to 8pm, Friday, April 7th, from 9am to 5pm and on Saturday April 8th, from 9am to 12 noon.

Clare County Democratic Party Meeting

The Clare County Democratic Party holds their monthly meeting the 1st Thursday of the month in the lower level meeting room of the County Courthouse at 225 W. Main St., Harrison, Michigan. The next meeting is April 6th at 6:30 pm. We will be discussing the revision of our Bylaws, our upcoming April 12th Trivia Night Fundraiser, and more…The public is welcome to attend our meetings.

Free Cooking Class

His Helping Hands is offering a free Cooking Together class for four weeks beginning on Friday, April 7.
We will meet from 10 am till noon at First Baptist Church of Clare on 302 Wilcox Parkway in Clare. Come and join us as we cook, pray, eat and enjoy fellowship. Free child care will be provided. Please call 539-2064 to register.

Free Food Distribution in Clare

The next Clare County Food Distribution and Nutritional Education event is Saturday, April 8th, at McGuire Chevrolet at 712 W. US 10 (5th St.) in Clare. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m., and the food will be distributed beginning at approximately 11:00 a.m. Free packets of seeds will also be given away.
The event will be conducted indoors. All who want food will receive it as long as supplies last with the limitation of one food package per household. Patrons should bring a picture ID. Please bring your own reusable bags, boxes, or baskets if you can. There may be a long wait, so if you need to sit, please bring a chair.
The food distributions are conducted by the Community Nutrition Network. St Johns Lutheran EASTER FOR KIDS

On Saturday, April 8, St. John Lutheran Church in Clare will be hosting an Easter for Kids event. It is a day filled with fun, fellowship, and friends.
Children ages 3-12 are welcome to attend. (We kindly ask that any child in attendance be potty trained). The day will include devotion, crafts, snacks, singing, and end with an Easter egg hunt. Most importantly, the Easter lesson will be taught to children at their level in order to give the true joy and hope that Easter brings.
This event will take place April 8, 9-12:00noon with the Easter egg hunt to follow. Parents/guardians are encouraged to come into the sanctuary at 11:30am to hear the children sing songs they learned and to pick up the crafts.

Lincoln Township Firemens Auxiliary Euchre Party

The Lincoln Twp Firemens Aux will be hosting Euchre Parties through the month of April at the Lincoln Township Hall in Lake George. Party starts at 6 every night with a $3 cover. Lake George Egg Hunt

Lake George will host an Easter Egg Hunt on April 9, 2017 at 12:00PM at the Luke Hamlin Ball Field in Lake George. Participants should arrive at 11:00AM to register for a bike raffle and other prizes donated by local businesses.

Adventures in Outdoor Fun

Looking for some engaging activities to teach youth about the outdoors? Look no further! Teachers, teen leaders, and youth volunteers are invited to come explore and have some fun during this active event. This workshop includes elements of adventure, outdoor and environmental education to provide youth leaders with tools, strategies and activities to engage youth in some creative learning opportunities. The workshop will help you discover ways to build confidence in youth so they can grow to be better citizens! In addition, your abilities to teach and mentor will be enhanced. Michigan State University Extension staff will lead participants through some experiential hands-on activities that will leave you asking questions and discovering answers.

Free Clothing

The next Living Hope Lutheran Church Free Clothing Give Away will be Tuesday April 11th from 9am to 3pm and also on April 21st from 9am to 12:30pm. We receive donated items regularly so we are bound to have something for you.
We are located at the old Chemical Bank drive in, 2370 W. Ludington Drive, Farwell across from Reds Oakridge Party Store and Marathon Station. If you have something to drop off please leave at Living Hope Lutheran Church, 2855 Cadillac Drive, Farwell which is located at the M-115 and US-10 over pass. Clare Primary Kindergarten Roundup

The Clare Primary School is in the process of establishing a list of children who will be entering Kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year.
All parents who have children who will be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2017 are asked to contact the school at 386-3438.
Parent informational meetings will be April 12th at 8:30 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. at the Clare Primary School.
Kindergarten Round-Up Readiness Screening will be held on April 19th & 20th, at Clare Primary School.

FARWELL VETERANS MEETING

The Farwell Veterans of Foreign Wars meets every month on the 2nd Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. They meet at the Clare County Senior Community Center at the N.E. Side. For more information call the Farwell VFW Commander. 989.588.6411.

Blue Star Mothers Chapter

Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit military support organization. We are seeking interested military mothers who would like to start a chapter serving the greater Isabella County/Clare County area. We are observing our 75th year of service as an organization and have much to share with mothers of our Troops. Anyone interested please email: president.deptmi@bluestarmothers.us
If your child is a recruit in basic training/boot camp-you’re eligible to join. If your child is in active service, National Guard, Reserves or if he/she is an honorably discharged Veteran, you’re also eligible to be a member. I’d like to have a meeting if I can get enough interested mothers and share our missions. Together we can do more for our Troops.

Paula Pirnstill Memorial Health & Safety Fair

This year’s Paula Pirnstill Memorial Health & Safety Fair will be on Saturday April 15th at the Farwell High School starting at 10am.
The Mission of the Paula Pirnstill Memorial Health and Safety Fair is to provide a free resource, for all attendees,to become better acquainted with their own health issues and how to effectively deal with them through free
medical screenings, free publications and directly talking with health professionals.
Many interesting booths will be set up in the gymnasium, as well as a 5K Run/walk and MiBlood will be set up at the back to take donations.

Health and Safety Fair MiBlood Drive

There will be a MiBlood Drive at this year’s Paula Pirnstill Memorial Health & Safety Fair, on Saturday April 15th at the Farwell High School. Many interesting booths will be set up in the gymnasium, and MiBlood will be set up at the back. Eat a healthy breakfast, and come donate your blood so we can supply the nearby hospitals with this lifesaving gift. Remember, from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, April 15th at the Paul Pirnstill Health & Safety Fair in Farwell.

Healthy Habits 5K Run/Walk

Being healthy makes you feel good – and so does supporting a great cause, which is what you’ll be doing when you sign up for the Healthy Habits 5K Run/Walk at the Paula Pirnstill Health Fair set for April 15.
Sponsored by the Clare Area Jaycees, the Healthy Habits 5K also features a Kids’ Fun Run and a health fair. Health related booths, information, and activities for both adults and kids will be available until 2 p.m.
The Healthy Habits 5K will be held Saturday, April 15 at Farwell High School at 500 Ohio St. in Farwell. The race will kick off the Annual Paula Pirnstill Health Fair at Farwell Schools.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the race Starts at 9:30 a.m. Registration for the Kids Fun Run also begins at 8:30 a.m., and the race Starts at 10 a.m.
