“The Art of Gardening”

Adoption Day at Brookwood Springs

Pets from the Clare County Animal Shelter will be available for adoption at Brookwood Springs Apartments on Saturday, July 15 from 11 am to 2 pm. Same day adoptions will be part of that community’s Garage Sale and BBQ. Volunteers will bring the most apartment-friendly pets available, plus some outstanding dogs more suitable for detached homes.
Everyone is welcome to come meet the dogs and cats and see if one (or more) could be your new best friend! Brookwood Springs Apartments are located at 235 Dwyer Street in Clare; one long city block behind the Dairy Phil. If you have donations for the shelter animals, you can drop them off that day too!

Old Fashion Camp Meeting Revival

The July 13, 14, 15 and 16th at 6PM. Each night there will be a pot luck dinner with FREE hot dogs and drink provided.
Thursday 6pm meal, then there will be an open mic for anyone who would like to sing a song, read a poem, give a testimony or a praise.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be the 6pm meal followed by Music from the Yoder Family at 6:45 pm then Speaker Pastor Birt Cooker or Pastor Jerry Britton will speak at 7:45pm. FREE camping is available (self contained) activities during the day, walking and bicycle trails.

Clare County Senior Center Euchre Tournament

The Clare County Senior and Community Center, 101 W. Michigan, in Farwell. We will be holding a Euchre Tournament on Sat July 15, 2017. Sign up starts at noon play at 1pm.

Open Studio Exhibit Clare’s 515 Gallery

Clare’s 515 Gallery is excited to showcase 18 artists in a unique exhibit, “Open Studio” July 1-29. The opening reception for these artists will be Saturday, July 15 from 6-8 pm at 515 Gallery in downtown Clare (next to Cops & Doughnuts). Each artist is presenting a behind the scenes look at their creative process as they prepare for Artwalk Central competition in Mt. Pleasant. Saturday morning Culture & Coffee artist talks will be held on July 8 & 22 at 11:00 am.

Harrison Sportsmen Club Hunter Safety

The course is being offered in two parts. The first part, classroom time, is done at your leisure either ONLINE and call Ron Vasich at 989-539-5536 or HOME STUDY (free).
The second part is *FIELD DAY (free) on SATURDAY, AUGUST 19, 2017. Attendance is a MUST in order to complete the course. It will be held at the Harrison Sportsman’s Club 3704 N. Harrison (west of the city of Harrison) from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

Clare County Crazy Quilters Party

The Clare County Crazy Quilters Party will be held August 7th at 10:00 am at the First Congressional Church, 211 Spruce Street, Harrison. The cost is $5 and includes lunch. Three on Three Basketball

Lake George Boosters Summer Euchre

The Lake George Boosters Club is having Summer Euchre starting Tues., May 2 through August 29. We are located at 80 S. Bringold, north of Lake George.
You are welcome to bring a snack to share at the break if you want to. We play at 7pm and the public is invited!

Swiss Steak Dinner

The monthly Swiss Steak dinner will be held at the Farwell United Methodist Church (on the corner of Ohio and Superior St.) on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
The menu includes: Swiss Steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, hot vegetable, coleslaw, rolls, dessert and beverage. The donation is $9 for adults, $5 for children. Take-outs are available.

Support Homeless Veterans Bowl-A-Thon

Bowl a Thon The united steel workers women of steel local 2-585 invites you to come out to have fun, and support our Homeless Veterans at our Bowl a Thon. The Bowl-A-Thon will take place at Gateway Lanes & Lounge on Sunday July 23, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Cost is $25 per bowler including two games, shoe rentals, and pizza! Beverages may be purchased separately. We have papers available for bowlers and non-bowlers to collect donations for our Homeless Veterans!
There will be a 50/50 raffle and prize drawings that evening. Thickets will be available all night for both drawings. All proceeds go to our Homeless Veterans.

Lake George Boosters Trap Shoot

The Lake George Boosters Club, located at 89 S. Bringold Ave, Lake George, would like to invite the public to their Summer Trap Shoot. They shoot Thursday’s, at 5:00pm. Clare County Parks & Rec Picnic

Clare County Parks and Recreation, Friends of Clare Parks and Recreation and the Clare County Board of Commissioners is holding their annual picnic/dinner on Tuesday July 25, 2017,at the Shingle Lake Park Pavillion, Lake George. Dinner and soft drinks will be served from 6pm until 8pm.

Saturday Soup
