Harrison fell to visiting Meridian on Friday, Jan. 11, suffering a 49-31 setback in Jack Pine Conference boys basketball.
“Team played hard the entire game,” Harrison head coach Joe Ashcroft said. “Overall, the boys are playing better than they did the first couple of games after break. (We’re) looking to continue to improve.”
The Hornets trailed 14-2 after the first quarter end fell further behind, 29-8 at the half. Harrison outscored the Mustangs 14-9 in the third quarter to trail 38-22 after three, and go the lead down to 11 points with four minutes to play in the game before Meridian extended its lead to the 49-31 final.
Cody Cooper led Harrison with 19 points and eight rebounds and Matt Haskell scored five.
Harrison (0-7 overall, 0-4 JPC) played at Houghton Lake on Wednesday, host Beaverton tonight (Friday) and play at Lake City on Tuesday.
