Janet McGuire has announced her retirement from the Clare County Community Foundation as well as the Midland Area Community Foundation on June 1st, concluding over 5 years at the helm of the organization.
The Clare County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Midland foundation, utilizing the Midland foundation staff, 501(c)(3) status, and back office services for its operations.
“It has been an incredible honor these past 5 years to be the steward of our community’s philanthropic assets,” McGuire said. “To work with the generous citizens of our community to insure Clare and Midland benefit from that generosity as effectively as possible.”
The CCCF began their affiliation with the Midland foundation in August 2002 to promote and enable philanthropic giving to enrich and improve the lives of people in Clare County. Under McGuire’s leadership, the CCCF has grown by increasing available scholarships, hiring an executive director and finding office space in downtown Clare.
“The Clare County Community Foundation has been very fortunate to have had Jan’s straight-forward and steady leadership over the last five years,” said Mike Jenkins, chair of the CCCF. “Her ability to keep our Foundation focused and on task has enabled us to expand our reach and have a lasting impact on the lives of those who live and work in our community. We wish her well and thank her for her dedication from the bottoms of our hearts.”
