MMCC Foundation Selects this Year’s Featured Artist for A Northern Tradition

March 2, 2012

Tickets are now available for the Mid Michigan Community College Foundation’s annual fundraiser – A Northern Tradition.  The eleventh annual event will be held on from 6PM-9PM on April 22nd at Jay’s Sporting Goods in Clare.

This year’s commemorative print is by Pauline Pierce Harmon, an artist from Jackson, MI.  Harmon’s work, a river landscape done in acrylics, will be exclusive to this event.  Each ticket holder will receive a numbered and signed print that evening.

Harmon’s work nearly always features wilderness or animals.  An avid traveler, she takes inspiration from the wildlife refuges, zoos, and landscapes that she visits.

Last year, about 800 people attended A Northern Tradition, allowing the MMCC Foundation to raise $108,000 for student and community advancement.

The MMCC Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to enhance Mid Michigan Community College’s services to its students and the community through fund development, scholarships, program development, and improved facilities.
