Updated – Semi rolls over in roundabout

March 21, 2012

A semi accident in the Clare south round-about Wednesday closed Business 127 for a while and caused traffic to be rerouted for four and a half hours while the accident scene was cleaned up. Clare Police Chief Dwayne Miedzianowski said the northbound semi from MLT Trucking of Mt. Pleasant was pulling two trailers full of steel from Fair Salvage. Officers believe it rolled because of a combination of speed in the roundabout and the load of steel shifting. The driver Joel Denslow, 35of Weidman was not injured. The Clare Fire Department, Mobile Medical Response, the Isabella County Sheriff Department and the Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Division from Reed City assisted Clare City Police at the scene.
