Surrey Township Public Library presents “Art in the Stacks”

STPL will be hosting our first “Art in the Stacks”, on March 9 from 6 pm until 8 pm. Join us and our local artists for a night of refreshments and artwork. We are looking for people that would like to showcase their talents. Here are our guidelines to entering: May submit up to 5 items, Must be ready to display, Can be in any medium including, but not limited to; acrylics, oils, clay, carving, pastels, charcoal, and pencil.

If you would like to sell your items, you must have a card with your information on it next to your display.

No nudity, profanity, or vulgar images.

Adult Crafting – Beading

Learn a new craft at your library! On February 13 from 5-7 pm we will be beading jewelry. Registration is $10 and includes a beginner’s kit that comes with 2 pairs of pliers, beads, various hardware for making necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. There is a limit of 12 so if you would like to join us you must register by calling the library or stopping in.

Kids Bingo

February 13 from 3:30-4:30 STPL will be having Kids Valentine Bingo! Win prizes and have fun. This program is open to anyone 12 and under. See you there!

Movie Night

Join us February 20 at 7 pm for Here Comes the Booms starring Kevin James. We will be featuring the movie on our big screen with surround sound and giving away popcorn. All you have to worry about is something to drink. Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Teen Essay Contest – Deadline is coming soon!

Surrey Township Public Library is holding an essay contest based on peer pressure. This contest is for current high school students grades 9-12. Essays may be submitted from January 15 through February 15. All essays MUST be submitted by 6 pm on February 15 to be considered. Here are the contest rules: Essay must relate to the theme, Essay must be your original work. Essay can be no longer than 500 words. Essay must be non-fiction and follow the form of a diary, journal, blog, memoir, or essay. Once entered, the essay will become a part of Surrey Township Public Library’s public content; so no foul language or inappropriate material. Those entries will be removed from the contest
