Tessner named trainer

Correction Officer Luke Tessner of the Clare County Sheriff’s Department was recently named Assistant Trainer for the International Bloodhound Training Institute.Tessner trained with Kevin Kocher, the founder of INBTI, in September with his bloodhound partner Remi. The Clare County K-9 Unit consist of Officer Tessner & Remi and Deputy Kahsin and his partner Rocky.

While police officers are able to serve the community on their own, the inclusion of a K-9 Unit in a police department greatly improves the department ability to enforce local, federal and state laws. K-9 units use highly trained dogs to assist in locating missing persons, to sniff our illegal substances, for public order and to apprehend or control suspects.
