Clare, Farwell, Harrison, Beaverton and schools all over the State were closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week due to snow and freezing rain that covered most of the State. The rain, and frozen ground swelled rivers and caused flooding in the Muskegon and Chippewa Rivers.
A Flood Warning was issued in Mecosta County and Emergency Management there ordered the evacuation of residents along the Muskegon River upstream from Rogers Heights to Big Rapids.
A Flood Watch was issued for Clare, Isabella and Osceola Counties and cancelled at 9 a.m. Wednesday, but a flood advisory continued throughout the day for southwest lower Michigan including the Muskegon River near Evart and the Chippewa River in southern Isabella County.
