making all those treats for gifts at Christmas.
Here are some of those goodie recipes that I like to give and also get for that sweet tooth that I have.

BANANA  CHERRY  NUT  BREAD
1/2 cup oleo
1 cup raisins
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup maraschino cherries
3 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
2 cups flour
1/2 cup nuts
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3-4 mashed ripe bananas

Cream oleo until fluffy, add sugar and beat well.  Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.  Add bananas, be3ating well.
Dredge raisins and nuts in one cup of flour, then add salt, soda, and flour (1 cup) to batter mixture.  Add raisins, nuts, cherries and rest of flour to mixture.
Pour into loaf pan lined with wax paper.  Bake at 325 degrees for about 2 hours or until a straw comes out clean.   **This is a great gift for a friend or neighbor as this will freeze well until given.

MILLION  DOLLAR  FUDGE
from Delia Arbour
4 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup oleo
1 tsp. salt
1 large can evaporated milk

Boil gently for 8 minutes until it is string like candy.
Stir in the following and mix well until melted and blended
3-4 cups German sweet chocolate
12 ounces chocolate chips
1 large Hersey bar
2 cups chopped nuts
1 1/2 pint of marshmallow fluff
Pour on a greased cookie sheet, let cool, then cut into pieces.  I have not tried this but will before the holidays….Sounds Yummy….

CHICKEN OR TURKEY CHILI
by Toni Buys
2 pounds of chicken or turkey breast, baked, cool and cut up
1 large jar of great northern beans
1 large jar salsa (I use mild)
1 tsp. cumin
1 8 ounce pkg. cheddar cheese
1 8 ounce pkg. Monterey jack cheese
1 can green chilies

Mix all ingredients together.  If you are using a large white crockpot, double the recipe.  Place crockpot on high to get the chili started then change heat to medium and cook several hours, stirring occasionally  to make sure it does not stick on the bottom.  Also it is very hard to find just the Monterey jack cheese so I use the combination, Colby/m. jack together and it is very good.   Serve with crackers or a hard bread….Super good……

Until next week…I leave you with this;

Worry is a conversation you have with yourself about things you cannot change…
Prayer is a conversation you have with  God about things that he can change….
God Bless,
Carol Jean
