Several weeks ago on the front page of the Review appeared a picture of the Chief of Police for the City of Clare. I was quite alarmed that this is how the Chief of Police of the City of Clare, Michigan thought it appropriate to represent our city in the newspaper. Instead of wearing a class A dress uniform he chose to wear a tactical response uniform with his service weapon attached to his leg, while holding an assault rifle and his German Shepherd behind him on the hood of his police vehicle. Is this what law enforcement in small town America become? Take that image to Detroit, where they need it. We do not need it here.
