Disappointed in article

April 17, 2014

Dear Editor:

I was disappointed to read your article concerning misguided parents whose children attend Farwell Schools.  My hope is this was a bad week (we all have them) and not a change of direction to become Clare County’s TMZ.  I’ve heard Facebook called the “bathroom stall of the Internet.” Please, do not ruin your credibility by using Facebook posts as a reference.  You do a remarkable service to this community, don’t change.

To the students, “The tough thing about adulthood is it starts before you even know it starts; when you’re a dozen decisions into it.”  Your parents aren’t doing you any favors.  In the real world, there are CONSEQUENCES for your actions.  The sooner you take RESPONSIBILITY, the quicker you can get back to the GOALS you are trying to reach.  A situation is never lost.  Don’t dig a deeper hole.  You’ve put yourself into a position where other people are making decisions for you.  The secret to SUCCESS is limiting the amount of times this happens in your lifetime.

How bad do you want it?  What are the limits you are willing to go?  How will you prove yourself?  Properly communicate your answers to the leadership at your school and the results might surprise you. Be prepared to work extra hard.  Nothing in this world will be given to you.
