Don’t miss the MMCC BBQ

Trying to plan a fun Sunday outing and still stay within your budget?  Mid Michigan Community College’s Twenty-first Annual BBQ and Fall Festival will be held on Sunday, September 15 on the Harrison Campus. This is a fundraising activity that directly supports scholarships for MMCC students. 

Tickets are available at the MMCC bookstores, Family Fare Supermarkets in Harrison and Gladwin, Valu Land in Clare, the Chemical Banks in Beaverton, Clare, Farwell, and their downtown locations in Harrison and Gladwin and will be available at the door. Ticket holders will also have a chance to win a flat-screen HDTV donated by Wood’s Household of Clare, two Sugar Springs Country Club Golf Packages, or a Family Fare Supermarkets/Glen’s Markets/Valu Land shopping spree!

Three Timber Trail races will be available this year for the running enthusiast. A new Half Marathon will start at 8 a.m. followed by a 10K race with a start time of 9:00 a.m. and the annual 5K Run/Walk for those who enjoy a fun, yet challenging run or walk through the woods of MMCC. 

Replacing the car show on the front lawn of the campus will be an Off-Road Park-It and Show-It event sponsored by Rocks and Valleys Off-Road Park of Harrison.Good food and family activities will be underway from noon until 4:00 p.m., compliments of Glen’s Markets and Family Fare Supermarkets, who generously donate all of the food for the event.    Festival activities on the stage this year will start out with the musical group Bone Soup who will entertain the crowd from 12:30 – 1:15 p.m., followed by the Central Michigan Area Concert Band performing from 1:35 – 2:35 p.m., and rounding out the on-stage performers will be the Open Range Band playing from 2:50 – 3:45.
