Gay Power is Destroying Christian Faith

January 20, 2020

Dear Editor:

The gay power gay rights, movement, its destroying the Christian Faith.

Allowing gay marriage in a Christian church is considered a departure from the Christian Faith.

Jesus thought marriage is between one man and one woman.

Paul the Apostile said, if anyone, teach any other doctrine (gospel) let them be accursed. It makes the church apostate, in other words it is of the world, and no longer spiritually connected to God through Christ.

It’s destroying Christian freedom. The gay life style is a departure from the Christian faith. The constitution and the Bible, protect the Christian faith. The Bible says teach a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. This means tracing him the words of Christ, marriage is between one man and woman, or to obtain.

To force any child to be raised by gays is unbiblical and unconstitutional. Article 9 protects all children from a gay adoption. The addition of certain rights shall not be understood to deny or corrupt the rights of the people.

Children are taught by example, to be Christian. Does gay parenting teach children to be Christian, or does it corrupt that right?

Gays have been allowed to fit into this Christian Nation by doing their jobs and not forcing their life style on others.

If they are allowed to corrupt the Justice system by going to a gay or pro gay jury, when they are not doing their job, or doing it incompletely, to sue, they are violating article 9. And worse, because they have gotten special rights, the rest of the people dontt have.

Obama broke the law by unconditionally forcing gays into public schools, to work with children with gay tendencies. Since then gays have habitually broken the law. If the advancement of gay rights is not stopped, gays will be the only ones with rights.
P.S. Voting for gay civil rights is like giving a crook your wallet without being asked.

Where on earth to begin. The writer offers no proof that “gay power” whatever that is, is “destroying” the Christian faith. Do Christians lose their faith that easily? Is there some new law that says Christians can no longer practice their faith? What is it? The writer offers no proof. And the capper on this letter is that the constitution protects the Christian faith. First Amendment. Dan, the constitution, says this:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Says nothing particularly about the Christian faith. I read it to mean any faith.

Extending civil rights protections to the gay community strengthens, not destroys, the Christian community. Gay people are our family members, co-workers, neighbors and friends. Many are Christians themselves, which is surprising considering how poorly they’ve been treated by people like Mr. August.

Jesus said, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” (Eph. 4:32) He also said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matt. 22:37-40)

We need more love and understanding. Be more like Jesus, and less like Mr. August.

Ignorant, bigoted moron. You are not remotely Christian. Jesus, who was a brown-skinned, Jewish, probably GAY socialist, would SPIT on you.

Christians, or should I say alleged Christians are destroying the Christian faith. Your rampant bigotry and paranoia betrays one of the tenants of the faith….LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

A word to the wise, Skippy……your bible does not run this country. You would do well to remember that.

While this letter is disgusting, the paper should have never published it. This is incoherent hate speech. It does not advance the public discourse on any issue. Publishing this trash makes this paper look like an unprofessional joke. While most of the time I can separate letters to the editor and the actual paper itself, this is so incendiary, with no intellectual value, it makes the whole paper seem like a bigoted rag.

People are going to focus on the letter, but I think the real problem is the paper thought this letter was worthy of publication. That is disgusting.

Please do not publish hate speech. This does nothing to further public discourse, and in fact, promotes hate (and not necessarily in the direction that the author intends).

Jesus said that his followers would be known by their love for one another, not by their homophobia and persecution of gay people. The heart of the law and Christianity is love, no matter how much Dan Aungst or other homophobes try to make it about disliking or hating gay people (and calling that “love” and demonstrating their “love” by forcing their views on gay people!).
