Is America becoming a socialist state?

Dear Editor,

December 7, 1941, was a date which would live in infamy. That being said, another date which would also live in infamy was January 30, 1933. It was then that Germany began its transition from the Weimer Republic to a total National Socialist state. This was orchestrated by a megalomaniac by the name of Adolph Hitler and his assorted gang of demented followers. To accomplish this, the German citizens were eventually driven, by Hitler’s avaricious desires, forced to surrender all of their personal weapons. Following this, they quickly lost “all” of their other personal freedoms. The state would, henceforth, dictate every aspect of their personal lives – including freedom of speech, freedom of the press, radio programming, movie films, “health care”, education, the legal system, theatres, music, fine arts, freedom of worship and economy.

Hitler would free Germany from the shackles of the Versailles treaty if they, like a flock of mindless sheep, were willing to accept the Third Reich for the next thousand years as he promised. His plan was deceptively simple – cloaking the seizure of absolute power with unchallenged dictatorship. Added to this equation was gross unemployment, wanton inflation and a political system devoid of any reliable or “honest” leadership. Does any of this bring to mind what is happening within our beloved country? George Santayana stressed that “those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it”.

Our country is slowly, day by day, being transformed from a Democracy to a Socialist state where every citizen, it is alleged, will be on the same social and economic level (except for our leaders). Obamacare is “one” of the first attempts to equalize the country’s economic wealth. Our government, which attempts to convince us of this, is also the country’s largest employer. The more excessive it becomes the more it will, as we have already seen, be plagued by financial waste, political corruption, and a lack of efficient and honest leadership from the “top” to the bottom. This system is already filled with power hungry politicians who, driven by their egos, are more interested in their personal inflated salaries, lifetime benefits, and a total lack of respect for the taxpayers, who voted them into office.

What can we do? It starts with us forcefully and effectively voicing our immediate concerns for maintaining all our constitutional rights – starting with our freedom of speech and the right to bear arms for our personal freedom and safety. If these two are lost the balance of our freedoms, as the Germans discovered, will fall like dominos with nothing to stop it. This can only be accomplished if every one of us exercise the right to vote!

Will Rogers once stated, “There is no credit in being a great comedian when you have the whole U.S. Government supplying material for you”.

We alone are responsible for what happens to our social and economic future. If we don’t respond now then we have only ourselves, as an entity, to shoulder the blame. This is what the Germans totally failed to understand from 1933-1945. As someone once proclaimed – no snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible for the final outcome.

Wake up America. All of the above is not going to happen, it is already happening now! In God We Trust-is more compelling than ever. You can bet your clearly labeled currency on that!

Sincerely,
