Once again, an unsigned letter to the editor complaining about residents walking their dogs in Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. We occasionally walk our dog there, on a leash, and we carry the plastic bags to take care of the dog’s deposits if he happens to leave one. We have relatives that are interred there and we don’t believe we are dishonoring them by
walking our dog. The roads are blacktopped and in the winter are plowed very easy walking for the people.
On the other hand, other than the sidewalk that is right next to the cemetery, there are no sidewalks in our area to walk on. Other than parking your vehicle in the park, there are no paths or roads in
the two parks and athletic complex in this city.
Now, here is another thought, what about the squirrels, chipmunks,
stray cats (there are some cats that go to the cemetery and I cannot leave out the birds. Who cleans up after these animals? What about the Rocket Football Teams that practice on Cemetery land and have done so for many years?
I will even sign my name to this letter.
