A Grand Ledge man died and his two passengers were injured in a fatal one-car accident early Tuesday morning.
A release from Isabella County Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski said the accident happened at 3:58 a.m. on Bluegrass Road at Encore Blvd. in Union Township.

Mioduszewski said Guadalupe Rodriguez, 43, was driving a 2009 Pontiac G6 westbound on E. Bluegrass when he lost control, ran off the road, hit a telephone pole, ran through the parking lot of AT&T and rolled over multiple times. All three people in the vehicle were trapped and required extrication, Mioduszewski added. Rodriguez and Kimberly Kay Compo, 41, of Grand Ledge were in the front seat and wearing seat belts. Tom Allen Epps, Jr., 24, of Mt. Pleasant, was in the back seat and was not wearing a safety belt.

Compo was transported to McLaren Central Michigan by Mobile Medical Response and then transferred to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids by Aero Med.

Epps was transported to McLaren by MMR.
Mioduszewski said there was a loss of electrical power to residents of the area as a result of the crash.
He said alcohol was a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.

Isabella County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the scene by Mt. Pleasant Police, Central Michigan University Police, the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department and MMR.
