Three defendants were sentenced in Clare Circuit Court Monday by Judge Roy Mienk according to information from Clare County Prosecutor Michelle Ambrozaitis.
Joseph Carl Brown pled no contest to Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 2nd degree (involving a person under 13) as a second or subsequent offense. Judge Mienk sentenced Brown to prison for 5 to 15 years; lifetime registration as a six time offender; lifetime electronic monitoring; $68 in State costs; $130 in crime victim rights fee; a $500 fine, $500 court costs and $700 court appointed attorney fee.
Harold Lee Adam pled no contest to two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 3rd Degree (Incest). He was sentenced by Judge Mienk to from 10 years to 15 years in prison, with credit for 181 days previously served; lifetime electronic monitoring and lifetime registration; no contact with the victim; $131 state costs, $130 crime victim rights assessment; and, $1700 in fines, costs, court appointed attorney fees.
Michael Lawrence pled guilty to Operating/Maintaining a Methamphetamine Lab in the presence of a Minor and Possession of Methamphetamine. He was sentenced by Judge Mienk to 3 years to 20 years in prison for the lab and from 14 months to 10 years in prison on the possession charge, both to run concurrent, with credit for 293 days for time previously served and spent in substance abuse treatment; $685 restitution to Harrison Fire Department; $3,806.38 to BAYANET for the hazardous waste clean-up; $136 in state costs; $130 crime victim rights assessment; $1,500 in fines, costs, and court appointed attorney fees; and SAI boot camp if recommended by the Michigan Department of Corrections.
