80 Rock’n Roll into Reading

More than 80 people attended “Rock ‘n’ Roll into Reading – Family Literacy Night,” in March presented by the Early Childhood Partners of the Clare-Gladwin Great Start Collaborative. Children ages birth to six and their families gathered at Harrison High School to take part in 12 literacy activity stations;  pre-enroll for Clare, Farwell, and Harrison area preschools; register for kindergarten round-up to attend Larson Elementary School; and learn about Early Childhood services available in Clare County.

Popcorn was provided by Mid Michigan Community Action Agency and every child left with a bag of five new books to take home.

“This event was a huge success thanks to the dedicated planning efforts of our early childhood partners as well as the participation of the families,” said Great Start Collaborative Director Heather DuBois. “It goes to show what great things can happen when we all work together toward a common goal.”

“Rock ‘n’ Roll into Reading – Family Literacy Night,” is made possible by the Clare-Gladwin Quality Preschool Partnership; a workgroup of the Clare-Gladwin Great Start Collaborative and United Way of Clare County.
