Two teens walked away from a serious accident with only minor injuries Tuesday after they fled a traffic stop in Clare and led police on a chase.

Clare City Police reported that an officer was attempting to make a traffic stop on a vehicle leaving the McDonalds parking lot and driving carelessly. The driver failed to stop and was chased north on Old 27 to Dover Road and east to Eberhart where he lost control, hit a tree and rolled the vehicle. The driver and a juvenile passenger fled the scene and were located later and arrested. The vehicle was destroyed, officers said.

Andrew Moll, 19, of Clare was arrested on multiple criminal charges and arraigned in 80th District Court on Wednesday afternoon. He was charged with Flee and Elude 3rd Degree and Unlawful Driving Away of a Motor Vehicle. His bond was set at $20,000/10 percent. He was still in jail Wednesday afternoon.

City Police were assisted by the Clare County Sheriff’s Department, Clare Fire Department, Isabella County Sheriff’s Department and Mobile Medical Response ambulance.
