There are great holiday events going on all over the area this weekend.
You can visit the beautiful new Veterans Freedom Park. The visitors’ center will be open Saturday July 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and on Sunday and Monday, July 3rd, and 4th from noon to 6:00 p.m.  The park is located on 225 W. Main Street in Harrison, just across from the Clare County Courthouse.

Harrison has a lot of great events planned.
The annual Harrison Car and Bike Show is set for Saturday, July 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the VFW Post #1075. Vehicle registration, scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m., is $10 per vehicle. Admission to the show is free to the public.

There will be multiple awards for cars, bikes, 4x4s and public safety vehicles.
The event will include music, food, awards, prizes, raffles and more. Display tables for vendors will be available for $10.

After the show, vehicles will cruise through town, and to wind up the day, there will be a delicious Barbeque at American Legion Post 404.

Harrison’s big 4th of July Celebration continues on Sunday, July 3rd and Monday, July 4th.
The Sunday events kick off with a Bump and Run (Demolition Derby) at the Clare County Fairgrounds at 7 p.m. The Grandstand admission is $10 for those ages 6 and up and $5 for ages 5 and under.
After the derby, you will want to stick around for the long-standing community favorite, a fabulous fireworks display at dusk that you won’t want to miss.

Sunday is also the day to see the annual Budd Lake Pontoon Parade which begins at 7:45 p.m. on beautiful Budd Lake.

On Monday, the 4th of July, the annual Fourth of July Parade, the area’s very best, begins at 11 a.m. at the County Fairgrounds and winds through the city. This year’s parade theme is “Superheroes!
Register an entry in the parade by 4 p.m. Today (Friday), or call the Chamber of Commerce (989) 539-6011 for more details.

In Farwell, the weekend offerings are the annual Figure 8 Derby at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 2nd at the Farwell Fairgrounds. After the event the fireworks begin there at dusk.

Lake George:
Lake George’s annual 4th of July Parade will be held Sunday July 3rd beginning at noon. Line up for the parade is at Luke Hamlin ball field at 11:25 a.m. Call Nancy at (989) 588-2025 for more information.

Rosebush events, to be held at Isabella Township Park, celebrating the holiday will include:
On Friday, July 1st, an Ice Cream Social at 7:30 p.m. and an outdoor showing of the movie “Frozen” at dusk.

Saturday, July 2nd there will be a classic car show beginning at 10 a.m. with a concession stand open at noon.

The Fourth of July parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday; kids games will be going on from 11:30 to 2:30 p.m.; there is a truck and tractor pull at 2 p.m. and live music with “Foolish Dreams” from 7 to 11 p.m. To wind up the events, a fireworks display will begin at dusk.

Although Clare’s annual Summerfest, traditionally the annual holiday celebration, was held last week, there are a couple of events still scheduled for the holiday.

June 30th through July 2nd, the Clare City Wide Yard Sales will continue. Check out the Clare Chamber of Commerce website for a map of the sales.

On Sunday, July 3rd, the Clare Municipal Airport will sponsor a Fly-In and Drive-In Pancake Breakfast from 7:30 to 11:00 a.m. More details are available at
