The 20thMONOPOLY at McDonald’s proved to be an exciting one for Thomas Vozar, of Harrison, Mich. when he ordered Fruit & Maple Oatmeal and peeled off Park Place. That final piece, along with the Boardwalk piece he already had, proved valuable, as Vozar won $1 million, proving dreams really do come true.
“We are excited that a local person from Harrison is a $1 millionwinner,” said Joe Nicklyn, Harrison McDonald’s owner/operator. Vozar shares, “I am a regular at the Harrison McDonald’s, I have coffee there almost every day.” Vozar mentioned that he usually ordersa Sausage Breakfast Burrito but one day in October he decided to try the McDonald’s Fruit and Maple Oatmeal.
Thomas is a 71 year-old native of Ithaca, Michigan which is about 45 minutes south of Harrison. He has lived in Harrison since 1974. Vozar retired from Mid-Michigan Community College in Harrison in 2003.
Nicklyn, who also owns and operates McDonald’s in Gladwin, Houghton, Houghton Lake, Mio, Oscoda, Roscommon, Rose City and Tawas City said, “Our crew is about as excited as Mr. Vozar.The MONOPOLY Game is fun at all levels. It creates great community conversation and some real excitement in our restaurant.” The 2012 MONOPLY season ended in October.
