Baker charged in Lake gun theft

11-22-13 MUG bakerParolee William Baker, 47, of Garfield Township was arrested November 14 around 12:30 a.m. at his home on first degree Home Invasion and firearms charges.

Clare County Sheriff’s Department Detectives executed a search warrant on Bakers home that night and recovered a long gun and two handguns that were stolen from a Play Land Subdivision home near Lake. The guns were valued at approximately $1,500, according to a release from Undersheriff Dwayne Miedzianowski.

Baker was arraigned in 80th District Court by Magistrate Karen Willing on the Home Invasion First Degree and Felon in Possession of Firearms charges. His bond was set at $100,000 – 10 percent cash surety.

He remains lodged at the Clare County Jail.
