Board salaries go up in Grant Twp.

In their annual meeting held before the regular meeting Tuesday evening, Grant Township Board member and residents in the audience voted to increase the board members wages by approximately 2.44 percent.
Both board members and all township residents present at the annual meeting were eligible to vote at the annual meeting.

Supervisor Dan Dysinger will now receive a monthly salary of $681.23 for statutory duties plus $351.27 for township administration and $281.71 for hall maintenance for a total of $1,314.11.

Township Clerk Tammy Teal will receive a monthly salary of $1,570.00.
Treasurer Tammy Shea will be paid $1,211 monthly plus $2,154. For July (summer) tax administration and $2,154. In September for summer tax administration (collection).

Trustees Marge Bell and Dick Zinser will now receive $217.17 monthly.
Other business at the annual meeting included:

*Setting the regular meeting for the township for the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.

*Approval to set procedures for calling special meetings with at least 24 hour notice.

*Approval to deposit township funds with Chemical Bank, Mercantile Bank, Isabella Bank and Members First Credit Union.

Also at the meeting the board, and audience reviewed the budget for the coming year. Dysinger said that could change if the township has to assess one percent to pay for the unfunded mandates for administration of the tax assessing program. Changes to the assessing process were implemented by the lame duck legislature in late 2018.
