Harrison High School junior Quincy Jones and sophomore Chase Howey were recognized by the Harrison BOE at their Monday night meeting for their spectacular performance at the Michigan High School Athletic Association Team & Individual Bowling tournament held this year in Cheboygan.
Jones and Howey took first and second place respectively in the team event. Jones also placed third overall in the individuals portion of the competition, with Howey coming in 5th.
Coach Becky Haskin commented, “They both did extremely well in the event. They struggled a little when we got to State. We just had an off day. All in all, they have had an excellent season.”
According to their coach, both boys stayed within one or two pins from one another throughout the entire event. Both Quincy and Chase walked away from the competition each with a 211 average.
Jones also brought home the High Average Award and was named MVP by all of the High School Conference Bowlers.
