The Clare BrewFest – Food. Music. Brew will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 pm across from the water tower in downtown Clare.
Presented by the Clare Rotary Club, the Clare BrewFest began in 2011 with the goal of providing craft beer tasting and education to the Central Michigan area. This year the Rotary anticipates having over 120 Michigan craft brews to sample and at least 15 Michigan wines! Also, craft root beer will be available.
Every year, the proceeds are given back to the community. In 2013 with the help of sponsors, including title sponsor Cops & Doughnuts, they are donating proceeds to help the Clare City Police Department purchase another police dog so that current K9, Officer Swiper, can retire.
Officer Swiper has been fighting crime in Michigan for over 10 years. For the last 5 years, Officer Swiper has been an essential part of the Clare City Police Department. Throughout his career, he has been a dedicated officer; however he is getting to the age where he might rather chase his ball around, not criminals.
There will also be food, live music by Kari Lynch Band and Third Coast Steel, and demonstrations with Officer Swiper! The cost is only $25 at the gate or $20 online into the event and 5 tastings. Additional tastings can be purchased during the event. In addition, a $10 non-drinking ticket can be purchased. You must be at least 21 to enter the event.
