In August, Alyssa Carncross will be representing Haslett High School at the 2014 National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) on Medicine & Health Care held on the campus of Harvard Medical School, Boston Massachusetts. A select group of students from across the country and around the world will attend NSLC.
Alyssa will meet with nationally renowned physicians, surgeons, medical researchers, health care professionals. While performing clinical rounds, she will learn medical examination and surgical techniques including practicing suturing with a surgeon, participate in diagnosis and treatment while solving the mystery of a fatal outbreak sweeping the nation. Alyssa will discuss controversial medical issues, learn about today’s health care challenges and explore advanced scientific research in areas such as cancer and HIV/AIDS.
Alyssa is a junior at Haslett High School and is planning on majoring in Pre-Med to pursue her vision of becoming a physician. She is the daughter of Daniel & Donna Carncross, granddaughter of Freeda Brownridge and the late Don W. Brownridge, Lawrence and Jeanne Carncross formerly of Clare.
