The Clare Conservation District is looking for individuals to join the district’s board as members. Individuals interested in becoming board members must be residents of Clare County and must be 18 years of age. An interest in the environment and conservation is a must. “There is an application process that they have to go through and they can come to our office to get that information,” district manager Holly Keenan said. The community is always welcome to attend the conservation districts weekly meetings at 6:30 p.m., Tuesdays, in the conference room of the county building in Harrison. The next meeting will be August 12.
The conservation district next event will be a rain barrel workshop at the Harrison Street Fair August 22. The district is also looking for local artist who would be willing to paint a rain barrel that will be auction off for charity.
