Clare County Transit Corporation will be holding a one of a kind event as it prepares to compete at the state level for driver competence. On Saturday, June 22, 2013, the CCTC will be holding a “Transit Rodeo” Day, which will be open to the public.
Citizens attending will be able to understand the level of training their local drivers must complete and accomplish before they get behind the wheel of the bus, as the drivers complete various competitions. The winners will be sent to the state to compete with other regional winners, with the top state drivers attending the National Competition sometime next year.
CCTC Director Tom Pirnstill will be providing some refreshments for those attending, and stated that parking, although limited due to the HUGE array of solar panels that consume a large portion of the property, will be available; if parking becomes a problem this year, Pirnstill will make arrangements for next year’s competition.
“This is really a fun time to watch the drivers go through their paces,” Pirnstill stated, “I hope to see many in the community on that day.”
An RSVP is not required. The competition will begin around 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 22nd.
