Chemical Bank announces video contest

 Chemical Bank is excited to announce its participation in the American Bankers Association’s (ABA) Lights, Camera, Save! Video Contest, designed to encourage young people to use the power of video to communicate the value and understanding of saving.

“The Lights, Camera, Save! contest will allow teens to role play and record their thoughts regarding the value of saving money,” explained Rod Loomis, Chemical Bank Community President. “This is a fun and exciting way to get kids thinking about the importance of saving their money.”

The video contest is one of several components of the ABA Education Foundation’s Teach Children to Save program. This component is a unique competition that encourages youth to inspire others to become lifelong savers.

“We are delighted to continue our commitment to financial education through this opportunity created by the ABA and look forward to seeing the creativeness and resourcefulness of our contestants,” Loomis added 

To participate, students ages 13-18 can download a Contestant Submission Packet on the “Banking for Kid’s” page of our website beginning Thursday, November 1st, 2012 through Friday, November 30th 2012. Videos will be judged on creativity, content and message and can be accepted at any of our offices.  Chemical Bank will host the first round of local level judging and award prizes to the top three winners.  Chemical Bank’s first place winning video will compete on the national level for a chance at $3,000, $1,500 or $500 towards their savings goal, and up to $1,500 will be donated to their school.
