Clare hosted and won the Clare Memorial Baseball Tournament on Saturday, topping Reese 5-3 in the first game and topping Bay City Central 13-5.
Charlie Bugbee got the win in game one, tossing five innings, giving up three earned runs on four hits and five strikeouts.
Gabe Denton had a solo home run and a double, Mason Packard had two singles and Bugbee, Logan Emery, Jordan Gross and Conner Clickner all had one hit apiece.
In the championship, Camden Dice got the win, pitching five and 2/3 innings, giving up five earned runs on eight hits, three strikeouts and eight walks.
Dice also had a good game on offense, getting two hits and three RBI, Matthew Magnus had a double, single and an RBI, Packard had one hit and three RBI, Denton had one hit and two RBI, with Emery and Bugbee also getting one hit apiece.
On Thursday, May 8 Clare hosted Harrison in Jack Pine Conference play, splitting with the Hornets by winning game one 7-0 but lost game two 9-8.
Colton Punches got the win for Clare in game one, giving up two hits and striking out six batters, with Denton and Bugbee getting two hits and an RBI apiece for Clare. Punches and Gross both had doubles.
Bugbee suffered the loss in game two, with Dice, Denton and Gross both getting two hits for the Pioneers.
Clare (14-4) was at Gladwin on Thursday, is at the Glen Lake Tournament on Saturday and plays a make-up game with Farwell on Thursday in Clare.
