Clare County 4-H offers food preservation club

Coming this November is a new special interest (spin) club that will focus on preserving foods. The club is open to youth ages 12 to 19 by January 1, 2019.

Learn to make jams and jellies, apple sauce, pickled peppers as well as various preservation styles. The fun will take place at the Farwell United Methodist Church from 3:30 to 5pm on Tuesdays on the following dates:
Nov. 13: Jams and Jellies
Nov. 20: Apple Sauce
Nov. 27: Pickled Peppers
Dec. 4: Dehydrating, Blanching and Freezing **Must attend all four meetings

This hands on experience will be led by MSU Extension Food Safety Educators. A limited number of spots are available. Preregistration is required. Fees are to be paid at the beginning of the first meeting. Scholarships are available upon request only for the additional $20 fee for non 4-H members.

Cost: $20/youth. Additional $20 fee for non 4-H members (includes one year 4-H membership)
