Clare Police Chief Brian Gregory receives $4,800 AAA grant.

The Clare City Police was recently awarded a $4,800 grant from AAA. Shown here are Chief Brian Gregory with AAA North Region Manager Jack Peet presenting the check.

Gregory said Peet was instrumental in assisting him in getting the grant, which will fund the purchase of a traffic radar trailer. The radar trailer will be used at different locations in the city to monitor traffic speed and assist the police with traffic enforcement.

“These trailers are being used throughout the country and have been effective in reducing property damage accidents and fatalities,” Gregory said. “Without the grant there’s no way we could have afforded this ‘high tech’ equipment.” He said the grant completely covers all of the costs for the equipment.
