The Clare varsity track teams served as hosts of the Clare Invitational on Friday, April 27. Bullock Creek won the boys’ competition with 100 points, Freeland placed second with 95 and Clare took third with 80.
Jake McFadden took three first place finishes, winning the 110 meter hurdlers with a 14.56, 300 hurdles with a 38.37, and 200 meter dash with a time of 22.32. McFadden’s time in the 300 hurdles is a new school record.
Top five finishers included Jake Boynton placing third in the shot put with a 43:09.5”, Taylor Meixner took second in the high jump with a 6’02.00”, Jonathan Harper took second in the 1600 with a 4:28.9 and took first in the 800.
Hunter Nivison added a fourth place finish in the 3200 with a 9:58.06.
Chippewa Hills won the girl’s portion with 108 points, Charlevoix had 96 to take second, St. Louis took third with 91 and Clare placed eighth with 49.
Top finishers for the Lad Pioneers were Klista Randall in the discus with a distance of 84’00.00”, Krysten Kruskamp placed third in the long jump with a 15’05.25”, Addy Kleinhardt took second in the 100 hurdles with a 16.77 and Victoria Harper placed fifth in the 1600 with a 5:36.00.
