Clare won in a romp over host Pine River on Tuesday, rolling over the Bucks 8-3 in Northern Michigan Soccer League South Division play.
“Following a tough victory over Standish-Sterling (we) were a bit banged up,” Clare head coach Doug Helmling said. “Despite the soreness (we) were able to secure the victory.”
Angel Heras and Kevin Spicer-Torres both scored two goals, with Camden Dice adding a goal of his own all in the first half. Earning assists on the goals were Jacob Karl, Spicer-Torres, Dice, Ryan Brown and Mike Glowniak.
This helped Clare take a 5-1 lead at the half, though the Bucks cut the lead to 5-3 early in the second half on a penalty kick.
The Pioneers put the game away from there, getting a goal from Spicer-Torres and another by Heras to give both a hat-trick on the night. Dice booted in the team’s final goal of the night, giving him a team high nine for the season.
James DeRocco made 10 saves in goal to preserve the win.
