Clare soccer marches to district finals

Talk about waiting for the right time to play your best soccer. After Wednesday night’s 4-0 win over district host Standish-Sterling, the Clare varsity girls’ soccer team has punched their ticket to the district finals tonight (Friday) against Garber.

Goal scorers were not provided at press time.

The Lady Pioneers opened up district play on Tuesday, topping Gladwin 1-0. The two squads played 65 minutes of scoreless soccer until Kaitlyn Corell scored on a free kick with 15 minutes left to play.

Clare goalkeeper Corrine Wezensky made 11 saves in goal.
