Clare sweeps Shepherd

Clare kept its perfect early season record intact on Thursday, sweeping visiting Shepherd 4-3 and 6-3.

The Pioneers trailed game one 3-0 but staged a comeback to win in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single off the bat of Charlie Bugbee.

Colton Punches picked up the win, tossing one inning of relief.

Bugbee finished with two hits, with Logan Emery, Camden Dice, Matthew Magnus and Punches all had one hit apice.

Bugbee picked up the win in game two, giving up three earned runs on four hits, two strikeouts and three walks.

Jordan Gross had a double, Bugbee also had a single and two RBI, Dice had a single and an RI and Emery had two hits and three RBI.

Clare (4-0) hosted Beal City on Thursday and plays at Big Rapids on Monday.
