A day before her 17th birthday, Farwell golfer Bria Colosky found herself in unfamiliar territory after nine holes in the Michigan Junior Invitational at Pine River Country Club in Alma on Wednesday. Bria had a rare pair of triple bogeys on the front nine and ended up with a 43, which tied her with Lake Orion’s Victoria Basso. If Colosky seemed concerned, she didn’t show it as she lit up the back nine for a two under par 34, including an eagle on the par five 12th.
Her round of 77 was good enough for a nine shot win over Basso, and marked the fourth time Colosky has won the event. Midland’s Rachel Mervyn came in third with Mt. Pleasant native Emily Gunning finishing fourth.
