Representatives from Cops & Donuts were on hand at the Redding Township Board meeting Wednesday evening to present Township Supervisor Tom Krchmar with a check for $1000.00.

The money will go toward a complete upgrade of the Township’s weather alert siren located near the cemetery in the village of Temple.  Redding Township has been without the weather alert service for nearly a year.

According to Dale Majewski, Clare County District 1 Commissioner, the money will cover the entire cost of change over to restore the siren.

Majewski stated to those in attendance, “All of the parts are on order, and hopefully within a month the change over will be completed.  We’ll then run a couple of tests on the siren with Central Dispatch to make sure everything works like it’s supposed to.”

Majewski added, “Cops and Donuts is really great about doing things like this.  They always step up when it’s for the good of the community.”

Jay’s Sporting Goods has also helped the cause by donating the back-up battery system for the siren.
