Cops & Doughnuts opens Central Precinct

Cops and Doughnuts opened in Mount Pleasant Thursday, July 13.

The Central Precinct opened with free samples of doughnuts and hot coffee Ryno Rynearson, co-owner and president of Cops & Doughnuts said.

“It’s going to be soft opening,” Rynearson said. “It’s close to the University (Central Michigan University) in the old Goodwill building on Mission and Preston streets,” he said.

The new Central Precinct located at 1327 S Mission in Mt. Pleasant.

The hours will be 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., and open seven days a week, with weekend hours running later.

Hours might extend once the school year kicks up Rynearson said.

“Everything will be trucked down from Clare, with cookies and doughnuts and eventually pies and cakes,” Rynearson said.
He said the cool thing about this location is that it encompasses all the aspects of the other locations with the baked goods, a modern feel, and room for entertainment with a huge TV , a conference room and space for private parties.

It has been eight years since the business began at the headquarters in Clare when nine officers came together to save a historic bakery from closing.

Other Michigan precincts include Bay City, Ludington and Gaylord and a Indiana precinct in South Bend.
