Three dates are very busy ones each year for county clerks such as Clare County’s Lori Martin. The first Tuesday of May, August and November are when governmental municipalities can have elections.

Martin said her office is gearing up for the May 7 election.

“We’re getting prepared for it,” he said.

There will be three issues on the ballot. But it’s not a county-wide ballot, Martin noted.

There will be an election in Franklin Township, asking for an operating millage.

The Harrison district library is asking for a millage renewal.

Farwell area schools have a bond proposal. There will be some precinct consolidation for the vote, Martin noted. Voters will be mailed a notice on this or already have received one.
