Two rollovers and another two-car accident were reported between Tuesday and Wednesday by the Clare County Sheriff’s Department.
Tuesday’s rollover, pictured here, was a two vehicle accident on the intersection of Bass Lake and Stockwell in Harrison, reported at 3:16 p.m.
Sheriff John Wilson said Sonya Loose of Beaverton was extricated from her overturned Buick and taken to MidMichigan Medical Center – Clare with minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, Gary Simpson and his passenger Leraine Simpson, both of Harrison also received minor injuries, Wilson said.
Simpson was driving a Toyota pickup. Wilson said no further information was available on the accident.
Two more accidents were reported on Wednesday.
The first was a two-car accident at the intersection of Surrey Road and Old State Avenue in Surrey Township reported at 10:15 a.m. Deputies said Linda Black, 73, of Harrison, driving a 2009 Pontiac, collided with a 2005 Cadillac driven by Belinda Sprague, 64, of Harrison. Officers said Black failed to yield at the intersection and was cited. She had a passenger in the vehicle and all three occupants of the vehicles were taken to MMMC-Clare for evaluation.
A single vehicle rollover was reported Wednesday afternoon at 3:44 p.m. on Grant Avenue north of Mostetler Road in Hayes Township. Sheriff’s Deputies said Russell Matthews, 64, of Harrison, lost control of his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, went off the road and overturned. Matthews was taken to MMMC-Gladwin Emergency for minor injuries. Alcohol was not a factor and Matthews was wearing a seat belt deputies said.
