Visiting Coleman managed to outscore Farwell in a frantic fourth quarter on Wednesday, Dec. 19, topping the Eagles 66-57 in a non-league boys basketball contest.
Farwell’s Curtis Robinson scored four points in the opening quarter but Coleman led 9-8 after the frame, with the Comets outscoring Farwell 12-8 in the second to lead 21-16 at the half. The Eagles got single field goals by Robinson, Trent Marhofer, Seth Baginski and Austin Hickey.
The squads picked up the pace in the third quarter, with Coleman extending its lead to 39-31 entering the fourth quarter. In a high-scoring final quarter, Coleman tallied 27 points to Farwell’s 26 to secure the win. Marhofer scored nine points for the Eagles in the frame, with Dylan Brown, Robinson and Trevor McComber all hitting three-pointers.
Robinson and Marhofer both finished with 15 points for Farwell, with Marhofer adding nine rebounds. Walter Mosby and McComber both had seven points, with Mosby adding four steals. Brown finished with five points and six assists.
Farwell (2-4) host Meridian Jan. 4 in a Jack Pine Conference contest.
