Easter Egg drop, hunt Saturday in Clare, Farwell

Clare Eggstravaganza:
Stop by the Clare Municipal Airport early this Saturday April 13th where a huge plastic egg drop is scheduled.

If you’ve never had the opportunity to see eggs fall from the sky, then it’s time you you joined Clare Parks and Recreation at the Clare Municipal Airport as they celebrate the coming of spring the the annual egg drop event.

Pilots from the airport will be on hand to drop over 1,500 plastic eggs from a plane. Youngsters ages 12 and under are welcome (with parent participation to retrieve the eggs and redeem them for candy.

Before the eggs are dropped, local supporting organizations will provide children’s activities and some have included special prize eggs that will be included in each of the drops.

There will be three egg drops held for different ages. At 11 a.m. the drop will be for ages 0-4; at 11:15 ages 5-8 will participate and at 11:30 ages 9-12 will scramble for the eggs. Registration is from 10 to 11:15 a.m. For information go to jsimmer@cityofclare.org.

Farwell
Eggstravaganza:
The Clare event ends around noon, but Saturday’s Eggstravaganza fun continues in Farwell.

Just 5 miles west of Clare, you won’t want to miss Farwell’s annual Easter Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt.

Registration starts at noon (just as Clare’s event is ending) and the fun begins at 1 p.m. with events for young and old alike in the Farwell Village Park.

There will be an Easter egg hunt for kids up to 12 years old with over 15,000 eggs for kids up to 12 years old, door prizes, games and activities for the kids and they can even meet the Easter Bunny!

The event is sponsored by Farwell Village Parks and recreation, Surrey Township Fire Department, Surrey Township Public Library, the Farwell Women’s Club, the American Legion and their Ladies Auxilliary and Riders & Sons of the American Legion, by Robbin Harsh Excavation, the Farwell VFW, Kyle’s Mfg, the Farwell Trading Post, Taylor Insurance, Future Mold, Meijer’s, McKenna Associates, Janet Gill and Jaynie Smith Hoerauf.
