On 3-29-2012, the Michigan State Police Mt. Pleasant Post arrested a 43 year old Midland man on a seven county felony warrant for Ct 1: Criminal Enterprise – Conducting, Ct 2: False Pretenses – $100,00 or more, Ct 3: False Pretenses – $1000 or more but less than $20,000, Ct 4: False Pretenses – $1000 or more but less than $20,000, Ct 5: Embezzlement – $100,000 or more, Ct 6: Embezzlement – Agent or Trustee $1000 or more but less than $20,000 and Ct 7: Embezzlement – Agent or Trustee $1000 or more but less than $20,000. He was lodged in the Isabella County Jail where he posted a $10,000 bond. He scheduled for arraignment Monday April 2 at 10:30a.m.
An investigation was launched after representatives from Auto-Owners Insurance of Michigan found an employee had been adding items to legitimate customer insurance claims and converting those items to his own use. The investigation revealed that the total amount fraudulently obtained exceeded $100,000.
Search warrants were served on the subject’s home where many items were seized. Approximately $19,500 worth of stolen property was recovered. Photo attached.
