Farwell announces Valedictorians and Salutatorian

Alex Dailey, Farwell Co-Valedictorian

Alex Dailey is the son of Mike and Andrea Dailey. He is a 4 year veteran of track, has played 3 years of varsity football, and has earned numurous MHSAA and JPC awards for both sports, including the MHSFCAA All State Academic 2nd Team Award.
Academically, Alex was part of the 2017 JPC All Academic 1st Team and earned gold academic medals in mathematics, physical education; silver medals in English and social studies; and a bronze medal in science. Within school, Alex is a member of NHS, Run Club, Quiz Bowl, Yearbook, Newspaper, and MMCC Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Outside of school, Alex has been involved in an intramural hockey league since he was four and has served as the captain of his team for numerous years.
If you don’t see Alex at school or playing sports, he’s probably working at his mother’s business, Buccilli’s Pizza of Farwell. Alex has been instrumental in the National Honor Society’s annual Gifts from the Heart Drive, an event that collects and distributes Christmas gifts and meals to families in need throughout the community. His scholarships include the University of Michigan Experience Scholarship, the Kiwanis Scholarship, the 2-year Clare Rotary Scholarship, and the Gilmore Hockey Scholarship. He also earned the Wendy High School Heisman Male Scholar Athlete Award and the Marines Distinguished Athlete Award.
He will graduate high school with 45 college credits. This fall, Alex will be attending the University of Michigan to earn a degree in mathematics.

Skylar Stoddard, Farwell Co-Valedictorian

Skylar Stoddard, Farwell Co-Valedictorian

Skylar Stoddard is the daughter of Matthew and Amy Stoddard. Throughout high school, Skylar has been involved in cross country, NHS, Run Club, Student Council, Yearbook, Newspaper, Theater/Forensics, Track, Volleyball, and MMCC Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She is a recipient of the HAIL Scholarship from the University of Michigan.
Skylar has also received the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 401 Scholarship, the Paula Sullivan Memorial Scholarship, the Lake George Boosters Scholarship, and the Isabella Bank Scholarship. She has been recognized as the Farwell DAR Good Citizen, the Wendy High School Heisman Female Scholar Athlete, the U.S. Marines Distinguished Athlete, and is a member of the 2017 JPC All Academic 2nd Team. She earned academic medalist honors in math (bronze) and science (silver).
Leadership and running are both huge parts of her lifestyle, and in the past, Skylar has helped organize her school’s Run Club and has also volunteered as a Junior Coach for Girls on the Run. Her favorite volunteering activity was when she and her youth group traveled to Indianapolis for the One Heart Many Hands Missions Trip, where they spent a week completely renovating a home downtown and handed out sack lunches on the streets. She has grown her leadership skills through the 2015 Nazarene Youth Conference and Olivet Nazarene University’s 2016 Summer Leadership Institute. Skylar will be graduating high school with 34 college credits and will be attending the University of Michigan this fall for nursing.

Andrew Pfeiffelman, Farwell Salutatorian

Andrew Pfeiffelman, Farwell Salutatorian

Andrew Pfeiffelman is the son of John and Laura Pfeiffelman. He has been a member of Theater, Color Guard, Melodic Fusion, NHS, and Student Council. He is a talented musician and has mastered six different instruments thus far. Andrew is one of the seniors of the Farwell Symphonic Band that has received the overall highest rating at State Band and Orchestra Festival for the past four consecutive years.
Individually, he received the Arion Award his junior year for exceptional musical aptitude. Andrew’s high school theater career totals nine different plays, where he has either been an actor, on sound production, or a stage hand. While balancing classes and extracurricular activities, he also works as a pizza maker at Buccilli’s Pizza of Farwell.
Andrew’s favorite volunteer activity was the National Honor Society’s Mac and Cheese Drive, where the Farwell community collected over 3,000 boxes to donate to the Harrison Baby Food Pantry. Currently, he has received the Wildcat Achievement Scholarship and Kaye-Munson Scholarship from Northern Michigan University, the Farwell Band Scholarship, the Jane Eisenhauer Memorial Scholarship, and the Tony’s Muzik Scholarship. He is a member of the 2017 JPC All Academic 2nd Team and was a silver academic medalist in band. He plans to go to Northern Michigan University to pursue a degree in music with minors in Spanish and pre-law.
