Farwell came up with a narrow 54-52 non-conference basketball win over visiting Vestaburg Tuesday night, thanks in large part to 16 fourth quarter points by Walter Mosby.
Austin Hickey and Curtis Robinson both hit a three-pointer in the first quarter to help the Eagles lead 9-6 after the first quarter with Seth Baginski, Hickey and Robinson all hitting threes in the second quarter. Robinson added another two-point basket and Farwell led 22-19 at the half.
Hickey hit another three in the third quarter as did Dylan Brown but Vestaburg outscored Farwell 20-9 to lead 39-31 entering the fourth.
Mosby dominated the final quarter for Farwell, hitting five-field goals and making all six of his free-throws to help Farwell come back for the two-point win.
“Great defensive come back after a sloppy end of the third quarters,” Farwell head coach Erik Schunk said.
Mosby finished with 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals, Robinson had 10 points, Hickey finished three-of-five from three-point land to finish with nine points, Trent Marhofer had six points, 10 rebounds and three steals, Baginski had five points and Brown scored three.

On Wednesday, Jan. 8 the Eagles played host to Harrison, winning 52-49.
Hickey helped Farwell get off to a good start with a pair of threes in the first quarter but Bret Coughlin hit a pair of threes for the Hornets as Harrison led 11-10 after the first.
Matt Haskell scored 10 points in the second quarter, including a pair of three pointers and despite five points apiece by Farwell’s Mosby and Marhoefer Harrison led 30-23 at the half.
Hickey hit another three in the third and added a two-point basket to help Farwell slightly close the gap to 40-34 entering the fourth.
In the final quarter Brown scored seven points, Mosby had five and Marhofer had four to help Farwell come back for the win.
Brown and Mosby both had 12 points to lead Farwell, with Brown adding five rebounds, four assists and three steals and Mosby had four steals and two assists. Marhofer finished with 11 points and eight rebounds and Hickey had 11 points.
Coughlin finished with 15 points for Harrison, Haskell had 12, Justin Yager had eight and Michael Taylor scored six.
Farwell (4-2 overall, 3-1 JPC) plays at Meridian tonight (Friday) and hosts Roscommon on Wednesday.
