The winds of April came roaring through the village park in downtown Farwell Saturday afternoon as youngsters from around the area gathered to celebrate the coming Easter Holiday and meet the lovable Easter Bunny at the 2019 Farwell Easter Eggstravaganza.

Bags in hand, hunters charge up the hill into the Farwell City Park.

While the winds were on the strong side, sunny skies and spring like temperatures kept participants comfortable as they waited anxiously to begin their annual quest for the multicolored gems.

Prior to heading to the hunting grounds along the rail trail, in the city park and on the lawn of the farmers market, youngsters registered for a chance to win prizes, enjoy a hot coco, donuts, and music. A visit and picture taken with the Easter Bunny rounded out perfect pre-hunt activities. Due to the wind popular kid games and special activities were cancelled for this year.
As in past years the best part of the afternoon was seeing all the smiling faces ages 0-12 scurrying about the grounds gathering over 15,000 brightly colored eggs filled with goodies.
