The Farwell golf team will continue its season after taking sixth place in the division three district meet at Manistee National Golf Course Wednesday night, shooting a team score of 375. Kalkaska took home first place with a 314.
The Eagles were led by Josh McCurry with a 75, Mitch Nordstrom shot an 86, Jordan Reger had a 100 and Logan Douglas carded a 114.
Clare’s team took eighth place with a score of 379. Zack Brockway shot an 88 to qualify for regionals as an individual, with Andrew Witter also qualifying with a 90.
On Monday, both teams competed in the final Mid-Michigan Golf Conference tournament at Mt. Pleasant’s Burning Oak Coutnry Club. Sacred Heart won the event and the league championship with a score of 342 while Farwell was fourth with a 378 and Clare was sixth with a 404. Farwell finishes the season fourth overall in the league and Clare tied for fifth.
McCurry led Farwell with an 82, Nordstrom had a 92, Douglas had a 101 and Reger had a 103.
Clare was led by Brockway with an 86, Witter had a 98 and Grant Good shot 114.
